   The Great Gatsby

The Great Gatsby

This month, the Cupertino Library Adult Book Group launches their seventh year of book discussions with F. Scott Fitzgerald’s famous novel, The Great Gatsby. Having amassed a mysterious fortune, Jay Gatsby is living very large on his Long Island estate during the Roaring Twenties. It appears he has it all, and to an excessive degree.  But Gatsby himself is very conscious of the one thing he lacks: Daisy Buchanan, the woman he loves. She rejected him to marry a wealthier man years ago. He sets out to win her back, but the consequences of achieving this goal prove disastrous.

The Cupertino Library Adult Book Discussion Group meets on the third Thursday evening each month in the Cupertino Library Story Room at 7pm. All meetings are sponsored by the Friends of the Cupertino Library. Adults of all ages are welcome.

Next month, the Book Discussion Group will  discuss their September selection, The Story of Beautiful Girl, by Rachel Simon.
