Posted on Tuesday, April 16, 2013 by Cupertino_Library

April is National Poetry Month!!!! That means it's time for all you aspiring T.S. Elliots and Emily Dickinsons to pick up your pens, punch on your keyboards, and enter the Santa Clara County Library District's 7th Annual Teen poetry Contest.

You may submit up to three poems through the website or to your local SCCLD library Information Desk by May 1, 2013. Free verse, sonnets, haiku and any other poetry form is welcome.

Two winning poems will be chosen from each of our Libraries - there are two categories - Middle School and High School.

Besides joining the immortal ranks of our previous Teen Poetry Contest champions, poets submitting a winning poem will:

1. Receive a gift card

2. Have their poetry featured on the SCCLD website

3. Receive a book with the other winning poets of the contest. This book will also be added to each library's book collection.

4. Have their poem entered in the National Level VOYA Magazine contest.
