The House I Loved The House I Loved

This month, the Cupertino Library Adult Book Discussion Group will discuss Tatiana de Rosnay’s The House I Loved. Widowed and alone, Rose Bazelet hides in the cellar of her family’s historic Parisian house on the Rue Childebert while awaiting its destruction. There she writes letters to her late husband and son about her struggle to save the house from Emperor Napoleon III’s ambitious plans to modernize urban Paris in the 1860’s. Through her letters, Rose also reveals a secret she’s kept for 30 years.

The Adult Book Discussion Group meets on the third Thursday evening of each month at 7:00 pm. in the Cupertino Library Story Room.  Adults of all ages are welcome. If you are interested in joining, but cannot come this month, you can pick up a copy of the January selection; Seabiscuit, by Laura Hillenbrand at the Adult Reference Desk starting December 21st. All Book Discussion Group meetings are sponsored by the Friends of the Cupertino Library.
