Nicole Kwan, co-author of The Dragon and the Crown: Hong Kong Memoirs, will discuss the book she co-wrote with her uncle, the late Stanley Kwan, creator of the Hang Seng Stock Index.
The memoir recounts the heart wrenching experiences of Mr. Kwan and his family during the upheavals of war and Communist revolution in Hong Kong and mainland China, as well as the story of Hong Kong’s spectacular economic growth after the war. Mr. Kwan created the Hang Seng Index (the equivalent of the Dow Jones) in 1969, and the Hong Kong market has never looked back.
This program will be held at Cupertino Community Hall on Sunday, September 2nd beginning at 2:00 p.m.
