Breakfast: The Most Important Meal of the Day

Posted on Thursday, April 4, 2013 by HylaryL

How many times have you heard the saying, “Breakfast is the most important meal of the day?” If what we eat in the morning is key to how the rest of our day will unfold, why do so many of us put so little effort into our breakfasts?

According to an article published in September 2011 by the American Diabetes Association, skipping a morning meal means that your body enters a fasting state, causing it to store the calories you eventually eat as a snack or lunch as fat instead of using it right away for energy. The article suggests planning ahead so that you have enough time to prepare breakfast in the morning by simply warming it up in the microwave.
