Campbell Library's on-going, free, English-as-a-Second-Language (ESL) conversation class is offered by the Library and its partner, CACE (Campbell Adult and Community Education). CACE is an independent, self-funded program of the Campbell Union High School District (CUHSD).
This class is taught by a licensed ESL teacher from the school district who provides an organized curriculum focusing on listening to and speaking English. It is free and open to adult learners regardless of residency or library card status. Pre-registration is not required.
The class size has been growing steadily since it was first offered in 2010. Typically, about twenty-five students from various ethnic and educational backgrounds attend the class regularly. Each week, the teacher uses various games and interactive drills to promote learning. The students enjoy learning conversational English in a fun environment and make friends from various countries.
The class meets regularly on Wednesdays from 10 a.m. to 12 noon, except it does not meet on Nov. 21, Dec. 26, Jan. 2, Feb. 20, and Apr. 10.
The first class of this school year will start at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, August 22. If you are interested, please drop in.
