It's their big chance at a big break for some big bucks -- Alice and Joanie B. are determined to compete - and win -the Youth Poetry Slam Contest on Wednesday, February 6th at 6 pm at the Milpitas Library.

"Chicken Poetry Reading"

Alice and Joanie B. --
 a chicken poetry -
(or so it would seem).
They'll be the chicken winners cause --
They think they can cluck for the bucks
better than any duck --
or dog, cat, kid or even -
any teen-ager with the (odd) luck
to be named Chuck.

Thanks to the Friends of the Milpitas Library there will be prize money  - $$$ - for first place (25 bucks), $$ second place (15 bucks), and $ third place (10 bucks) winners.

And, introooduuccing - Jen G. (alias Jennifer Gigantino) - super duper poetry-girl-power  - Mistress of Ceremonies!!!

Laurenjoan sez: The Youth Poetry Slam on Feb. 6 at 6 pm at the Milpitas Library will be held in the Auditorium. Youth -- up to the age of 18 -- are encouraged to sign-up and perform their own poetry for a chance to win some bucks.  Judges will be picked from the audience.  People of all ages are welcome to attend and to listen.  The Youth Slam is free and open to the public.  Thanks to our Friends of the Milpitas Library for making this - and all of our Poetry Slams -- possible.
