On the night of the Presidential Election, two chickens, two dogs and a cat walked into the local Milpitas comfort food hang-out, The Omega Family Restaurant, looking for some all-day breakfast food and election results. Their eyes were glued on the television overhead as they waited for their short stacks and bacon to arrive. . . just then a heavily mustached reporter appeared on the screen with the latest election news...
All Minnie the Cat-brarian could see was the very large mustache moving up and down on the television set, hypnotically.... Suddenly, she blurted out quite loudly and incredulously -
To which Alice pointed her wing-tip at the dog eating his patty melt at the table across the aisle, "He does," she said
"And what about our co-worker, Flossie, sitting right in front of you," Joanie B. piped in.
"And don't forget Winston, sitting beside you!" said Alice.
So, Minnie the Cat-brarian was surrounded by dog-brarians with mustaches.
Alice: Brawwk! She doesn't know its MOVEMBER - the month of the men with mustaches raising money for men's health!
Joanie B: During November each year, Movember is responsible for the sprouting of mustaches on thousands of men’s faces, in the US and around the world. With their Mo's, these men raise vital awareness and funds for men's health issues, specifically prostate and testicular cancer initiatives...
Alice: Once registered at www.movember.com, men start November 1st clean shaven. For the rest of the month, these selfless and generous men, known as Mo Bros, groom, trim and wax their way into the annals of fine mustachery. Supported by the women in their lives, Mo Sistas, Movember Mo Bros raise funds by seeking out sponsorship for their Mo-growing efforts.
This is a true story - the names and identity of the 'brarians have been changed to protect their professional image. It's also completely true about Movember - what a great cause and fun way to raise money and awareness about the special issues concerning men and their health.
"Mo Bros effectively become walking, talking billboards for the 30 days of November. Through their actions and words they raise awareness by prompting private and public conversation around the often ignored issue of men’s health."
