The Invisible Wounds of War

Get ready, because Silicon Valley Reads(SVR) is back for the 1-3. Not only is it back, and better than ever, but SVR now has an entire program just for teens!

Wait-a-sec, hold on, pal, just what the heck is Silicon Valley Reads?  Well, I’m glad you asked.  Simply put, it’s when everyone in Santa Clara County is encouraged to read the same book, at the same time, and discuss it with other people. It’s that simple!

Now, you may find yourself wondering...
Are there any tests? Nope.
Are there any grades? Nada.
Will I be assigned any homework? NO WAY!
Silicon Valley Reads is all about reading for pleasure and having fun!

We kid you not; the entire valley is busy reading and discussing these phenomenal books. But hey, the fun isn’t just for adults.

Book cover: Purple HeartTeens now have their own SVR book,
Purple Heart
by bestselling author Patricia McCormick.

So what are you waiting for?  Turn off the computer and get over to your local library and check out a copy of Patricia McCormick’s wartime, thriller, Purple Heart.  Unlike the books from Mr. McBoring’s English class, this one is guaranteed NOT to put you to sleep.

But wait, it gets better. We also invite you to take part in the Purple Heart Online Book Club..Discussion questions will be updated weekly and Patricia McCormick will be personally joining some of the discussions, so make sure to bookmark our page and check in regularly!
