Two Ways to Apply for a Library Card

 

IN PERSON:

  • Bring your completed Library Card Application form to the Accounts Desk at any of the Community Libraries in the Santa Clara County Library District or the Bookmobile. You must provide your date of birth and present a valid form of identification showing your picture, name, and proof of your current address to complete your registration. (Acceptable forms of Proof of Address)

 

ONLINE:

  • Visit any Santa Clara County Library within 30 days and provide your date of birth along with a valid form of identification showing your picture, name, and proof of your current address to complete your registration and receive your card. (Acceptable forms of Proof of Address)

Types of Cards

Full Access

  • Borrow up to 100 items at a time
  • Request up to 12 items at a time
  • Access computer services & online resources

Limited Access

  • Borrow up to 3 items at a time
  • Request up to 2 items at a time
  • Access computer services & online resources

Database Use Only

Available to teachers, school librarians, and administrators for the purpose of demonstrating Library databases to students. Cards are valid for 3 years and only allow use of Library databases. Some databases are available only from within one of our libraries. To apply for a card, please contact a supervising librarian or circulation supervisor at one of our libraries.
