Where can I receive help with my questions about Interlibrary Loan?

How do I check on the status of my Interlibrary Loan?

Please allow 1-2 days for your request to be in process online. Once in process, ILL items usually are received in 2-3 weeks depending on the lending institution and shipping time.

You can check on the status of your ILL item in our online catalog. In the "Title" search field enter "ILL item" followed by the title of the item you are requesting.

Can I renew my Interlibrary Loan item?

In most instances information about renewing your Interlibrary Loan is provided on the Interlibrary Loan material itself when you first receive the item. If no information is provided, you may contact the Interlibrary Loan Department at (408) 293-2326, Ext. 3013 for additional assistance.

What is Interlibrary Loan?

An Interlibrary Loan (ILL) is a request to libraries in North America for material not owned by the Santa Clara County Library District.

Patrons will be charged $4 for placing each Interlibrary Loan request, even if we are unable to obtain the item. The lending library may charge an additional fee.
